After living overseas, there were no jobs for radiography in my area. My friend asked me if I would like to watch her dog boarding business while she was on vacation, and I loved it. I then decided to go to The Paragon School of Pet Grooming in Grand Rapids to get my training and certificate. Afterward, I worked with my friend, grooming at her business, for two years. My husband's job brought me to the Battle Creek area and I liked grooming so much that I decided to pursue it here as well.

My husband and I have nine pets altogether, not including the chickens. Out of the nine pets, two of them are dogs. Pippa is a Weimaraner who is the oldest and most active of the two. Crowley is a Standard Poodle who is very lovable, though he is afraid of everything.

I had been working in photography for 6 years when covid hit. While I was laid off, I decided to try my hand at grooming. My mom was getting busier and needed the help, so she taught me how to groom. I have since taken over the boarding end of the business as well as helping to groom.

I've always loved animals and have six of my own. Of those six, I have two dogs. Zuko is a pit mix that I adopted from the shelter. He had a really rough life before coming to me and I'm just trying to give him a safe, easy life. Takoa is a Newfoundland/Poodle mix. She is out in the groom room every day and loves meeting all the people and dogs. She keeps me very busy with grooming. She is always dirty and full of burs. I love to give her weird haircuts, and on occasion, dye her bright colors.
